LARKS Tavares Invitational Pylon Race:

Our third annual pylon race!

Picture a miniature version of the Reno Air Races... with speeds exceeding 190 mph as they race 10 laps around the pylons... classes for aircraft powered by nitromethane/alcohol fuel and electric power.

Event Details

A three day event, with registration, practice, and inspections on Friday, 424 (Glow and Electric) Quickie, 426 Super Sport Quickie and EF1 Electric Powered - all on Short Course on Saturday,and 422 Quarter 40 Long Course on Sunday.
Lauch from our geo-textile launch pad, and land on our 500 foot geo-textile runway surrounded by open land.

Competition

AMA Pylon rulebook events 422, 424, 426, and Provisional E424 and EF1: NMPRA links to Rulebook and Provisional Pylon Racing Rules
AMA Membership required, Functional Fail-Safe required. Aircraft inspections on Friday.
Round 5 launch order will be determined by coin flip. EF1 will fly on the 424/426 course. 424 Glow and Electric will fly in combined matrix.
Fees per class: $45 for 422; $40 for 426; $30 for 424; and $20 for EF1. Entry fee payable to LARKS
Rich's Brew fuel provided to contestants (and available for purchase).

Our flying field is located in the Lake County Landfill on Frankies Road in Tavares off CR 561 - .75 miles south of CR 448 or 3.2 miles north of CR 48 in Astatula.
